The Colt pistols

 
The name of Colt is invariably reminiscent of the firearms world. Who does not know, even by sight,  the famous Colt .45 pictured here above?

As you will notice, when running through this chapter, the Colt pistol production is certainly not limited to this old-timer, which had himself evolved since its inception in 1911.

The majority of the Colt pistols are stemming from John BROWNING 's lineage. The name of this prolific and particularly gifted inventor (some 128 patents granted covering more than 80 firearms) , is associated to a vast number of firearms, spanning from an impressive quantity of sport weapons (Winchester, Remington, Savage) to the well-known .50 heavy machine-gun which ornated the U.S. armored vehicles of the world war II, with a large turn toward various handguns, exclusively produced through Colt and the Belgian firm FN (Fabrique Nationale), in the premises of which he finally died in November 1926.
