 The Matchbox Story
In 1947 Leslie Smith and
Rodney Smith, founded Lesney Products and started making die-cast models. In 1953 they
developed their "matchbox" philosophy: toys so small they could fit into
imitation matchboxes. Now a part of the Mattel family, Matchbox continues to expand their
die-cast car collection and even produces accessories, carrying cases, and playsets for
them. |
